Several months ago I set out to find a tutor who could work with mento create an independent study for my son who is in 10th grade. The objective was to find an area of interest for him which was biochemistry and a way to teach a highly individualized curriculum by remote learning. I evaluated many qualified tutors over Wyzant. However, when I reviewed the specific advanced accomplishments in teaching, research and academics that Dr. Patrick had I realized he was perfect for the role. Since then we have been collaborating and he has starred to work with my son. Dr. Patrick is flexible, responsive, creative and is preparing to provide the just right level of challenge. My son and he have already forged an instant rapport and my son is excited about his summer “course.” I am thankful to the benefits of his interface that I have been able to find the ideal person to provide my son with a unique experience this summer. Dr. Patrick helped my son with mastering some concepts of thermodynamics in the Spring term. He had been dissatisfied with his grade and with the support, turned it into an A. More importantly, he no longer felt intimidated by the topics. Since school ended, my son has been working on biochemistry with Dr. Patrick. What strikes me is how many times he has said: Dr. Patrick is such a cool guy. This is despite that the sessions are extraordinarily down to business--as no second is wasted. And yet, the enthusiasm and encouragement that Dr. Patrick shares makes each tutoring session actually . . dare I say it . fun. There is nothing better than joy in learning. I highly recommend Dr. Patrick. (I will add as a child psychiatrist for many years . . having worked with many families using many tutors for many subjects. . I cannot recommend him more highly).
