Patrick is the founding Executive Manager and a Tutor with Vincent-Pope Tutoring, LLC. After a Master's Degree in Life Science, he was awarded two competitive national fellowships to teach for 4 years in a European University and study for a PhD in Biochemistry at the C.N.R.S. . He graduated with highest distinction and took a position as a Postdoctoral Fellow from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lavoisier Program for Doctoral Students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he undertook a 5-year research project in Life Science, which received a U.S. federal grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Patrick was then promoted to Research Assistant Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he continued to teach Life Science for 4 years, and was the award winner of a year round oral presentation research contest in his Department. He has published a dozen peer reviewed scientific publications in international journals.
He then joined the Biotechnology industry, as a researcher in the North Carolina Research Triangle Park, with a competitive fellowship from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
Patrick tutors elementary, high school, college students and adults in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Anatomy/Physiology, Cell and Developmental Biology, and Scientific Editing/Writing, for exam preparation and for the purpose of filing a particular gap in the curriculum, assisting students in acquiring greater knowledge of the subject in question and developing their reasoning skills.
While at UNC-Chapel Hill, Patrick also supervised and trained undergraduates in all steps from the conception of scientific projects in Life Science to obtaining and interpreting preliminary data, and writing successful competitive fellowship applications. Under his mentorship, one of his research students was awarded two distinguished prizes: a Research Fellowship Program from the Pfizer Global Research and Development Award, and the J.N. Couch Award for Excellence in Biology at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Having been a scientist for over 20 years, learning to pay attention to detail, passing numerous exams leading up to and including a PhD program, and obtaining several scholarships and fellowships, Patrick is extremely well prepared to guide his students through the difficulties of understanding and reasoning that they may face during their studies and exam preparation. Patrick also has experience as a Scientific Reviewer for the National Science Foundation (NSF) grant proposal evaluation process in the Molecular and Cellular Biosciences Division.
